A serious altercation on board a cruise ship led to an unexpected interruption of a cruise that was originally planned as a relaxed short trip to the Bahamas. The massive cruise ship had to return to its home port just two hours into the journey. Two injured individuals were admitted to the hospital.

Dispute at children's pool escalates

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, shortly after the ship had left the port of Miami. Two guests got into a verbal dispute near a children's pool, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Both participants suffered injuries that required medical attention. In response to the incident, the captain decided to abort the journey at around 6:40 pm for the safety of all passengers and return to Miami. The cruise line, Royal Caribbean International, promptly informed local authorities, including the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR), to obtain assistance. Police and rescue teams in action

Around 8:30 pm, the 362-meter-long and 66-meter-wide ship docked again at the pier in the port of Miami. Police officers and rescue teams were ready to clarify the situation and provide care for the injured. Two individuals with minor injuries were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. However, the two quarrelers declined to file charges against each other. A witness reported on platform X that about a dozen other individuals, who were allegedly involved in the dispute, were escorted off the ship.
