Rescue teams worked tirelessly into the late evening to locate the missing individual, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Involved in the search were sea rescue teams, helicopters, firefighters, ambulance services, and police forces.

Safety Warnings Ignored

Media sources reported that some individuals had managed to save themselves from the water. RTVE, the state broadcaster, reminded viewers that authorities had already issued warnings about dangerous waves on Sunday. The natural pools, which are often considered hidden gems by tourists, can quickly transform into deadly traps during rough seas: towering waves can drag unsuspecting people into the open ocean, and strong currents frequently make it impossible to return safely.

Just a few days prior, Tenerife witnessed similar harrowing scenes, with numerous people swept into the sea — three lost their lives, and 15 others were injured. The island is now rocked once again by this tragic event.
