A horrifying incident has shaken the west coast of the Canary Island of Tenerife. Off the shores of Los Gigantes, a fierce wave dragged four individuals into the ocean, resulting in their tragic deaths. One more person remains unaccounted for, escalating the distressing situation. Initially, authorities reported three casualties.

Details of the Incident

The catastrophe unfolded shortly after 4 PM at one of the popular natural pools in Los Gigantes, within the municipality of Santiago del Teide. At that moment, many visitors were enjoying the site, both on the rocks and in the water, when an enormous wave crashed in, sweeping them away with devastating force. Emergency services in the Canary Islands confirmed that several people were swept off by the powerful current. Reports indicate that among the affected, there were foreign tourists.

Rescue Efforts and Casualties

A search and rescue helicopter was able to recover one person alive but sadly found another already deceased in the water. Official reports have confirmed a total of four fatalities — initially, there were two men and one woman; one man was 35, while the woman was 55. A subsequent report noted another woman who had been resuscitated and transported to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries there. It remains unclear if any Germans were among the victims.
