Family noticed the change

His therapist and daughter Zoe have both pointed to a new calm, confidence and self-respect. Winkler says he learned to listen more and stop forcing his opinions, admitting he had been like "Swiss cheese" full of holes but is gradually becoming firmer.

Therapy and his art

Working with a professional helped him connect more deeply as an artist; he credits that work with enabling his acclaimed portrayal of Gene Cousineau on Barry. He is also set to appear in Rolling Loud: The Movie on Oct. 2 and had a cameo in Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
