A catastrophic incident has shaken the west coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. Four individuals were tragically swept into the ocean by a towering wave near Los Gigantes, resulting in their deaths. Additionally, one person remains missing in this distressing situation.

The event took place just after 4 PM at one of the area’s popular natural pools in Santiago del Teide, where a multitude of visitors were enjoying the coastal scenery. Suddenly, a massive wave surged forward, overpowering those on the rocks and in the water, dragging them into the depths.

According to local emergency services, several people were swept away by the powerful forces of the ocean. Reports indicate that some of those affected were foreign tourists. Rescue operations involving a coastguard helicopter managed to recover one individual alive, while another was retrieved deceased.

Confirmed Fatalities

Initial reports confirmed the deaths of two men and one woman; the man, aged 35, and the woman, 55, both lost their lives when the wave struck. Subsequently, another woman was brought back to safety but succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. Current updates do not confirm if any German nationals were among the victims.
