A harrowing incident has struck the west coast of the Canary Island of Tenerife, specifically near Los Gigantes, where a colossal wave swept four individuals into the ocean, resulting in their tragic deaths. One more person remains unaccounted for at this time, with authorities initially reporting three fatalities.

The disaster unfolded shortly after 4 PM at one of the island's popular natural pools in Santiago del Teide. Numerous tourists were enjoying the scenic spot both on the rocks and in the water when suddenly a gigantic wave surged in, pulling many into the depths. Emergency services in the Canary Islands confirmed that several people were swept away by the force of the water, including foreign tourists, according to local news sources.

A lifeguard helicopter managed to rescue one individual, while another was recovered but sadly could not be revived. Initially, the confirmed casualties included two men and a woman, with ages reported as 35 and 55. Eventually, another woman succumbed to her injuries despite being transported to the hospital, bringing the total number of deceased to four. As of now, it is unclear if any of the victims were German nationals.
