Visits focused on recovery and service

Harry spent time at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center meeting recovering service members and staff, learning about sports-medicine approaches used to aid rehabilitation and speaking with wounded service members about technology that supports recovery. His interest in combining sport and recovery is linked to the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014.

Honouring the fallen and their families

He laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, watched a guard change and met four Gold Star families, visiting graves and hearing their stories. He also spoke with the wife of Army Sergeant Michael Verardo, who suffered catastrophic injuries in Afghanistan and later died in August 2025 from complications related to those injuries.
