Royal family spotted at Commonwealth Games

The family watched netball at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, attending semi-finals including Australia vs Jamaica and England vs New Zealand. New Zealand beat Jamaica 56–48 in the final. Kate has also mentioned that Charlotte has been playing plenty of netball this year.

Sport runs in the family

Both parents are athletic: Kate captained her college hockey team and plays tennis and padel, while William competed in swimming, water polo and soccer at Eton. The couple have said Charlotte enjoys rugby, running, ballet, tap, soccer and especially gymnastics. At Wales House they met gymnasts Abigail and Emily Roper; William noted Charlotte’s love of gymnastics and ballet, and Kate talked about Louis practising handstands. William even told Olympian Keely Hodgkinson that Charlotte is trying the 400m and hurdles and watched her in Paris.
