During the Aug. 16 performance Thomas, 54, spun his mic stand several times and the stand made contact with Doucette, 53, breaking the in-ear monitors. Video from the show shows Doucette leaving the stage to get help while Thomas apologized to the crowd, visibly upset and saying he felt terrible about what happened and that he might stop the risky move.
Doucette came back onstage smiling and holding a glass that appeared to contain alcohol, joking about the long history of mic swinging and teasing that he might move to a safer spot. Thomas repeatedly apologized to his bandmate in front of fans, promising to keep saying sorry for a while.
