Lauren Boebert has characterized the child-abuse arrest as stemming from a miscommunication about who was watching the child, saying no injury occurred and that the family met with Child Protective Services. Tyler previously faced a slate of 2024 charges — about 22 counts including vehicle break-ins, theft and felony ID-related offenses — and pleaded guilty to one count of attempted identity theft in a prior plea that resulted in two years’ probation and possible expungement if conditions were met. It remains unclear whether the new plea or the separate exploitation case will affect that earlier agreement.
