The local television network RTVE highlighted that authorities had issued warnings about hazardous waves the previous Sunday. While the natural pools are often regarded as hidden gems by vacationers, they can turn deadly during rough sea conditions: massive waves can pull individuals into the open water, and strong currents frequently hinder any chance of return.

This is not the first occurrence of such turmoil—Tenerife has previously witnessed similar distressing scenes; just on November 8, many were swept out to sea, resulting in three fatalities and numerous injuries. Tragically, this latest incident marks another painful chapter in the island's recent history.
