A horrifying incident unfolded on the western coast of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, as a tremendous wave swept away four individuals, tragically claiming their lives. Additionally, one person remains unaccounted for. Initially, authorities confirmed three fatalities. Here are the details regarding the deceased, the injured, and the missing individual.

The tragedy occurred shortly after 4 PM at one of the popular natural pools in Los Gigantes, located in the municipality of Santiago del Teide. Many visitors were enjoying the surroundings both on the rocks and in the water when an enormous wave crashed in, pulling them into the depths.

The emergency services of the Canary Islands reported that several individuals were swept away by the rushing waters. According to the Diario de Avisos, some of those affected included tourists from abroad. A coastguard helicopter managed to rescue one person alive, while unfortunately, another was retrieved deceased.
