Founded by King Henry VI in 1440 as a school for poor boys, Eton is now a renowned all-boys boarding school for ages 13 to 18. About 1,350 students live in 25 houses, with no day pupils. The school has educated 20 British prime ministers and many royals, including both Prince William and Prince Harry and relatives from Princess Diana's family.
Since 2002, candidates secure places through interviews, tests and references. Fees for 2025–26 were around $80,000. Eton sits roughly a 15-minute drive from the family’s base at Forest Lodge, and George — who follows his father in the line of succession — will begin this new chapter in September.
