Suspects and evidence

Those charged include Michael Alan Thomas, 32; Bryan Omar Roa, 24; Tycen C. Proper, 19; Daniel K. Eskridge, 32; and Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31. A search of Thomas’s home allegedly yielded a rifle, 30-round extended magazines, 180 rounds of ammunition and a pistol. An affidavit also attributes fringe beliefs to Thomas. Proper’s mother alerted authorities, and filings say he spent about $3,000 on weapons and equipment.

Legal stakes

The suspects face a conspiracy-to-commit-murder charge that can carry life sentences and fines up to $250,000; an additional conspiracy charge tied to violence on White House grounds carries up to five years, according to the DOJ.
