A tragic incident unfolded on the west coast of the Spanish island of Tenerife, where a powerful wave swept away four individuals, resulting in their deaths while another person remains missing. This unfortunate event took place near the famous natural pools of Los Gigantes in the Santiago del Teide municipality, just after 4 PM.
At the time of the incident, numerous visitors were enjoying themselves both on the rocks and in the water when a sudden, colossal wave crashed upon them, pulling many into the depths. Reports indicate that among those affected were also foreign tourists.
The emergency services of the Canary Islands confirmed the rescue of one person, while recovery teams tragically retrieved another individual who had already lost their life. Initially, authorities reported two men and one woman had died; one man was 35 years old and the woman was 55. Unfortunately, another woman later succumbed to her injuries after being resuscitated and airlifted to the hospital, bringing the total deaths to four.
