A Rose With a Backstory

The Sir David Beckham rose, bred by David Austin Roses and introduced at the show, was requested by Beckham’s daughter Harper as a 50th-birthday tribute in May 2025. Beckham wore one on his lapel; the King stopped to smell it, asked its colour (Beckham said white) and enjoyed a lighthearted exchange about its scent.

Charity and Company

David Austin says a share of sales will go to The King’s Foundation. The preview also attracted other royals — including Princess Anne, Prince Edward and the Gloucester family — plus stars such as Dame Judi Dench and Annabel Elliot, who shared a laugh with Beckham.
