Sentence and Charges

On May 13 in Orangeville, Superior Court Justice Clayton Conlan sentenced 31-year-old Sukhwinder Sidhu to two and a half years behind bars and imposed a seven-year driving ban. Sidhu pleaded guilty in February to dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

What Happened

The crash occurred Aug. 22, 2023, when a transport truck struck several stopped vehicles in a construction zone. Paul, 31, was killed; her 10-month-old son suffered a broken leg. Two other men and a woman were hospitalized after the collision.
