What Pulisic said in his interview

In a February interview featured by Time and later quoted in May, the 27-year-old A.C. Milan forward reflected fondly on Melton, calling her supportive and fun and saying she encouraged him to enjoy life more. He declined to expand further on the relationship when asked.

Melton's accusation and quick retraction

In early April Melton implied on social media that Pulisic had been on the invite-only dating app Raya before their breakup, sharing comments that suggested she believed he used the platform. Days later she issued a public clarification, saying her earlier remarks were born of false information, that he was not a cheater, and that she would not discuss the matter further.
