What he allegedly posted

Prosecutors say Sanders used X and Instagram to target President Trump, Senator Marco Rubio and former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. The filings allege posts including a claim about bombing the White House and videos in which Sanders made violent threats. In one April post he allegedly said, "All I got is a gun... it's the only thing I can use now," and later threatened Rubio. Other posts allegedly contained direct threats toward Trump and Bondi.

Officials respond

U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones called the allegations "serious federal crimes that endanger public safety and the rule of law," and Special Agent in Charge Michael Townsend said agents will investigate threats made on any platform. The news follows a separate, recent incident in which a man was charged with attempting to shoot attendees at a high-profile event; that suspect faces life if convicted.
