Prosecutors say Celeste Rivas Hernandez first met Burke in January 2022 when she was 11. They allege a sexual relationship began in November 2023, when she was 13 and he was 18. Detectives learned the teen was reported missing in February and April 2024; investigators contacted Burke on Feb. 17 after finding his number in her phone. He told officers he last spoke with her Feb. 13 or 14 and claimed he did not know she was a minor or reported missing. A later welfare check prompted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reportedly informed him the girl was a 13-year-old runaway.
