Muldoon's manager confirmed to Variety that he died on April 19. In his last public post, two days earlier, he wrote about being excited to be involved as an executive producer on the crime thriller KOCKROACH, a project featuring Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton.

Career highlights and tributes

Best known for playing Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives in the 1990s (returning in 2011) and Richard Hart on Melrose Place, Muldoon also appeared in Saved by the Bell and Starship Troopers. Costars including Alison Sweeney and Lisa Rinna posted condolences, praising his talent and kind spirit. He is survived by partner Miriam Rothbart, his parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., sister Shana (married to Ahmet Zappa), and niece and nephew Halo and Arrow Zappa.
