The arrests

On April 21, 2026, Louisiana State Police and local officers arrested 62-year-old Billy Williams Jr. at his Covington home and charged him with aggravated rape and second-degree murder. Three other men — Perry Wayne Taylor, 64; Darrell Dean Spell, 64; and Carlos Cooper, 64, all of Covington — were later charged with the same counts.
