A family spokesperson confirmed Mason died on April 19 at his home in Gardnerville, Nev., saying he passed away peacefully. He is survived by his wife, Winifred Wilson, his daughter Danielle and several nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Worcester, U.K., Mason co-founded Traffic in 1967 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2004. He wrote 1968’s "Feelin' Alright?" and the group's 1967 U.K. hit "Hole in My Shoe," and later scored a solo hit with "We Just Disagree" in 1977.
