27-year-old Hunter Hess openly expressed "mixed feelings" about representing his country at the Olympics at a press conference. He called the aggressive immigration policy and the political unrest in the US worrying. "It's a bit difficult," said Hess, emphasizing: "Just because I carry the flag doesn't mean I represent everything that's going on in the US."

Trump Hits Back

US President Donald Trump (79) reacted two days later on "Truth Social," calling Hess a "real loser." Trump wrote that those who do not represent the country should not have applied for the team and that it's hard to cheer for someone like him.
