During the World Economic Forum in Switzerland the president was photographed with a large bruise on the back of his left hand while signing papers for the 'Board of Peace' on January 22. The discoloration echoed a similar mark seen last March and drew renewed attention amid his Davos appearances and talk of Greenland.
On the flight home he attributed the bruising to his daily aspirin, telling reporters: "They say take aspirin if you like your heart, but don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising. I take the big aspirin." He also quoted a doctor saying, "You don’t have to take that, sir. You’re very healthy," and replied, "I said, 'I’m not taking any chances.'"
