Just before the scheduled trial, Marius Borg Høiby once again finds himself in the center of attention. Investigators strike, securing evidence - and suddenly more allegations are being thrown around than before. The timing is causing unrest, not just among the authorities.
As reported by Norwegian media, the police have searched Marius Borg Høiby's new apartment in Oslo's upscale Frogner district. The operation took place shortly before Christmas 2025 and was meant to secure evidence in connection with new investigations that are not yet part of the indictment.
What makes it especially sensitive is that at least one of the offenses being investigated is considered serious by the authorities. For a judge to approve a house search, there must be a high probability of a committed crime. The specific accusations being investigated have not yet been made public.
Regardless, the 28-year-old will have to face court at the beginning of February. The existing charges include 32 counts, including allegations of sexual violence, assault, threats, and property damage. If convicted, he faces several years in prison.
The new suspicions are not yet part of the upcoming trial. According to the prosecutor's office, additional charges could follow - but only if there is convincing evidence. This could also take time even during an ongoing trial.
