Washington - Donald Trump is not backing down. Just before a high-level meeting with representatives of the Danish government, the US president reaffirmed his claim on Greenland. Trump emphasized that the United States needed Greenland primarily for the planned missile defense system "Golden Dome". On his platform Truth Social, he wrote, the strategic location of the island is "of crucial importance". Without control by the USA, the project cannot be sufficiently secured.
