For a whole week, there was silence around the Swedish royal house. Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustaf had disappeared from the scene, and the court initially remained silent. On March 1st, the royal couple set off on a mysterious journey - but where to, spokeswoman Margareta Thorgren did not want to reveal to "Expressen". Victoria took over the affairs - what are the reasons:
In the absence of her parents, Crown Princess Victoria assumed the role of regent. "When the head of state travels for a longer period of time, there is always a member of the royal house at home who takes over the tasks of the head of state," Thorgren explained. This arrangement is common when the Swedish monarch leaves the country. But now it is clear where the couple was drawn: According to the magazine "Svensk Damtidning", the journey led to Kenya, specifically to Nairobi. With temperatures of about 29 degrees, the African country offered a welcome escape from the winter temperatures in Stockholm, where it is currently only around 4 degrees. An ideal place, then, to soak up the sun and replenish the vitamin D storage.
