According to the Ukrainian domestic secret service SBU, a targeted special operation has successfully severely damaged a Russian submarine from the Black Sea Fleet, rendering it largely incapacitated.
For the first time, an underwater drone of the type "Sub Sea Baby" was used, the SBU announced via its Telegram channel. The target of the attack was a submarine of the Varshavyanka class, referred to by NATO as the "Kilo" class. A massive explosion can be seen in the video posted by the secret service. According to the SBU, the boat had four launch systems for Kalibr cruise missiles, which Russia regularly uses in attacks on Ukrainian territory. According to the SBU, both the 13th main department for military counterintelligence and units of the Ukrainian navy were involved in the operation. The secret service estimates that the construction of such a submarine would cost Russia up to 500 million US dollars (around 425 million euros) under the current Western sanctions.
