On the eve of the awarding ceremony, Trump's excitement was palpable in his social media posts. On March 24, he posted on Truth Social, "It is my great honor to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH!" His posts continued to express enthusiasm about the event, lauding the talent of the club's members, the challenging nature of the course, and the thrill of the competition.

Challenges to Trump's Claims

However, amid the celebrations, a note of skepticism rang out from Rick Reilly, a former Sports Illustrated columnist who has been acquainted with Trump for over thirty years. Reilly, who has previously accused Trump of cheating at golf, responded to Trump's self-congratulatory posts with a pointed challenge, inviting him to prove his golfing merit on neutral ground. "Call us if you ever win one on a course you DON'T own and operate," Reilly quipped on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

At the time of reporting, Trump's posts have attracted considerable attention, with over 700,000 views, reflecting the public's fascination with the former president's golf-related activities. Whether Trump will take up Reilly's challenge remains to be seen.
